Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 June 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using IMEC.AI. By creating an account or using our platform you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. About the service

IMEC.AI is an AI-powered course-matching and advisory platform that helps international students discover, shortlist, and apply to UK universities. Our service includes personalised course recommendations, application tracking, document management, and an AI assistant ("Immi") to answer your questions.

IMEC.AI is not a registered immigration adviser, law firm, or accredited educational agency. All information provided is for guidance purposes only and does not constitute legal or academic advice.

When IMEC submits an application to a university on your behalf, that university may pay IMEC a fee. Course recommendations are generated from your profile and are never ranked by any fee or commission.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.
  • You must provide accurate, truthful information when registering and using the platform.
  • One account per person. You may not share your account credentials with others.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@imec.ai if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or cause harm to other users or the platform.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable UK or international law.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information to universities or on your profile.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform without our written permission.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the security, integrity, or performance of the platform.
  • Use the service to spam, harass, or abuse other users or university staff.
  • Use automated tools (bots, crawlers) to access the platform without prior written consent.

5. AI recommendations disclaimer

Course matches, compatibility scores, and Immi's responses are generated algorithmically based on the profile information you provide. They are indicative only and do not guarantee:

  • Admission to any university or programme.
  • Visa approval or immigration outcomes.
  • Accuracy of tuition fees, entry requirements, or course availability (these may change; always verify directly with the university).

You should always conduct your own research and seek independent advice before making any application or financial commitment.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the platform — including software, design, text, graphics, and the IMEC.AI name and logo — is owned by or licensed to IMEC.AI and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

You retain ownership of any personal data and documents you upload. By uploading content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it solely for the purpose of delivering the service to you.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IMEC.AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the platform, including loss of profits, data, or opportunity.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded under English law.

8. Third-party links and services

The platform may contain links to university websites and third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those external sites. Visiting them is at your own risk.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be erased in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability and governing law) will remain in effect.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
