About IMEC.AI

What do I get for free, and what do I pay for?

Preview is free with no card: the course finder, your top 3 course matches, your shortlist and 10 messages with Immi. To unlock all your matches, applications, documents, the offer and CAS tracker and the visa guide, pay once for the Application Season Pass (£119 for 6 months, no subscription), or choose a monthly plan from £12 a month with a 7-day free trial (card required, cancel anytime).

Does IMEC.AI get paid by universities?

Sometimes. When you submit an application through IMEC, the university may pay IMEC a fee. It never affects your course matches: they are worked out from your subject, grades, English level and budget, and are never ranked by commission.

Why use IMEC.AI instead of an education agent?

Agents are often free to students because universities pay them. IMEC.AI is for students who want to search the whole catalogue themselves, see how each course scores against their profile, and keep every step of their application in one place.

Is IMEC.AI an official UKVI or government-approved service?

No. IMEC.AI is an education platform, not a government agency or a registered immigration adviser, and it is not affiliated with UCAS or UKVI. Our visa guidance is general information to help you prepare. Always check GOV.UK and your university's instructions.

What happens to my data?

We use your details to match you with courses and to manage your applications. We do not sell your personal data. Our Privacy Policy explains who we share it with and how to delete your account.

What if my visa is refused?

IMEC.AI cannot influence UKVI decisions. Your refusal letter explains the reasons. Your university's international student team can tell you what it means for your CAS and your place, and a registered immigration adviser can advise on your options.

Studying in the UK

How much money do I need to show for a UK Student visa?

Your first year's unpaid tuition plus living costs: £1,529 a month if you study in London, or £1,171 a month elsewhere, for up to 9 months. The money must have been in your account for at least 28 consecutive days.

What IELTS score do I need to study at a UK university?

Most undergraduate courses ask for IELTS 6.0–6.5 and most postgraduate courses 6.5–7.0. Many universities also accept TOEFL, PTE or their own tests. IMEC.AI shows the English requirement for every course.

What is a CAS number and when do I get it?

A CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) is a reference number your university issues after you accept an unconditional offer and meet its conditions. You need it to apply for your Student visa.

What documents do I need for a UK Student visa?

Usually a valid passport, your CAS number, proof of English, proof of funds, and an ATAS certificate if your course needs one. Some nationalities also need a TB test certificate.

How long does a UK student visa take to process?

A decision usually takes about 3 weeks after you apply and give your biometrics. Faster services may be available for an extra fee.

What if my grades don't meet the entry requirements?

Many universities offer foundation years, pre-sessional English courses and international pathway programmes for students who don't yet meet direct entry requirements.

Can I work in the UK on a student visa?

Most Student visa holders studying at degree level can work up to 20 hours a week in term time and full time during official holidays. Your visa sets your exact limit.

What is the difference between UCAS and a direct application?

Most undergraduate courses use UCAS, where you apply to up to 5 choices on one form. Postgraduate courses are usually applied for directly with each university.
